totally agree Alex though I don't think it need come from a national party: people can start their own communal assemblies or councillors or mayors could introduce them. Ideally it wouldn't be initiated from the top down. Rather the opposite.
I suppose if the structure and the democracy of the party matches the politics, it could work. It would still be run from the bottom up and on a delegate system rather than the top down system current parties have.
I suppose it would be top down at first, to get the ball rolling but once neighbourhood and workplace assemblies are up and running they would all merge with the party (or organisation) and become one of the same
